Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?
Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

I have a tongue twister
for you, try to say that whole title 5 times in a row! Haha! Let's get started
with the review!
This was my first Young Adult contemporary book, so I wasn't
sure what to expect. I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed the story, and I
recommend it to anyone looking for a light and fun read. A lot of people that
have read this book say that they weren't a big fan of the 'insta-love' in the
story, but I didn't see it that way at all. For a book that takes place in a 24
hour time period, I don't think there's room for a friendship to start to turn
into something more over time.
There was also a big part of the story that
wasn't mentioned in the description of the book at all, and that was the fact
that her dad was getting remarried. This was a major part of the story because
it contains flashbacks of how Hadley and her mother dealt with the divorce and
his remarriage. The whole reason why Hadley was even at the airport heading to
London was for her father's wedding, which wasn't mentioned in the description
either. If you've ever had to cope with your parents' divorce, I think this
would be a really good book for you to relate to. Family is also a major aspect
of the story.
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight really shows
what it's like to go through divorce, having to meet your new stepmother, and
missing a flight! Hadley misses her flight by 4 minutes, causing her to
have to re-schedule, causing her to meet Oliver. It's funny how if she hadn't
had so many delays that morning, she wouldn't have met Oliver. It's the usual
story in which girl meets guy at airport, they end up sitting next to each
other on the plane, and falling in love. They're up all night on the plane
talking about their lives, and before they know it, it's over, and they lose
eachother after the arrival. The rest of the book is about whether or not
they'll find each other, and if Hadley can make it to her father's wedding on
time. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the fact that there were
soo many flash backs. I think the author was trying to show us more about
Hadley's life, and everything leading up to meeting Oliver, but I just didn't
like that. All in all, I give this book a 4.5 out 5 stars. Go read it!
It is really funny how you meet people places or ways you never expected to and how important they can become to you. I want to go back and read this book, maybe slow down some and take everything in. It was just too enjoyable, cute and fun not to speed right through it. I recommend this to anyone who wants a story about love at first sight that will make you laugh, maybe not cry but definitely feel sadness, and smile. It's a quick, fun read and I recommend it to anyone who is just looking to be entertained.
